The Seattle Center has asked for some local Seattle artists to produce a Fire Festival for Winter Solstice '08. The Center has pledged about $57,000 in staff, land, money, equipment, and overall support of this endeavor. They are giving two evenings for this event. It is their desire to see this grow year after year, and they will continue to support the local artists in making this happen.
The group of local artists, spearheaded by Donia Love, Artistic Director of the Winter Solstice Fire Festival, is looking for submissions for sculptural Fire art and Performance. If you would like to present, please email Donia for submission guidelines. The deadline for submissions is March 1st, 2008. Most of the slots are filled, but there is still room.
